back in june, we went strawberry picking.  d and i did most of the work, and adelaide tried to eat the straw in the fields… hmm… she did try her first strawberry, and in the end, i made many jars of jam, just like always.  this year, i tried using less sugar and sugar with a low glycemic index.  so, there was lots of honey and agave nectar thrown into the pot before i got to the traditional sugar.  the jam set a little runnier than normal.  but, it makes a perfect ice cream topping, which my pregnant self has been secreting loving!

i’m not sure whether or not she really liked the strawberries, but she did go back to the bucket for a few more!  good thing we picked so many! it’s hard to resist a basket of freshly picked berries, warm from the summer sun.
