takin’ it easy

August 15, 2011

we recently spent some time with d’s parents in northeast ohio.  it was such a pleasant visit.  i’m glad adelaide got to spend quality time with her grandparents.  she tried fresh peaches and cantaloupe for the first time.  she loved both.  she also visited a farmer’s market, and spent some time with her great-grandmother.  she is lucky to be surrounded by so many people who love her and care for her, and who go out of their way to get to know her.  ahhh… :) to be so blessed!

i say, if you have the chance to snuggle up on her, don’t let it pass you by. :)

btw, that’s strawberry juice on her shirt. another favorite.  they sell mesh ‘fresh food feeders‘ in which the fresh fruit or veg is inserted in the mesh bag and sealed.  it allows the baby to have foods like peaches or grapes that might otherwise be a choking hazard.  the baby chews and sucks on the mesh bag, which allows only digestible particles to pass through into the baby’s mouth.  while i’m not a fan of plastic anything, this design is so clever and has really taught her to love a wide variety of fresh foods, not limited to strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, grapes, cantaloupe and peaches.  i can hardly complain about the glaringly unattractive plastic.  it’s all a learning curve, you know?
