mail and other business

June 21, 2012

i normally remember when i order something online.  d jokes that things just show up at our door on a daily basis.  and sometimes it’s true, especially if i’ve used amazon to source used books for the kids from different vendors.  it can feel like an never ending string of purchases.  and so, for that, d, i’m sorry.

imagine my surprise, then, when a package arrived at the door! i knew i had not recently ordered anything, and so, was thrilled by the little brown box and the ambiguous smile.

my heart, today, is filled with thankfulness and humility and awe for the undying love that is old and special friendships.  i cannot possibly express enough thanks for this simple act of generosity.  and i now fear that you will be subjected to an endless stream of family photos.  THANK YOU!!

in other news, yesterday was lyla’s 8th month mark.  so, here is her 8th month photo!  there are two this time.  i couldn’t decide.  they’re both so cute.

and this is what happens when kids don’t want to exactly cooperate.  what do you mean you don’t want to lay still on the bed while mama takes 40 photos just to get one good one?  and then big sister wants to get involved.  and daddy can’t help but jump in…
