Good Garden Friday

July 20, 2012

{good garden friday}

a moment for us to share in the garden spaces that bring us joy, inspiration and self-sufficiency.

today’s photos are from Jacob Rodriguez-Noble of Takoma Park, MD.  Jacob is a specialist in Middle Eastern Studies, an avid runner and craftsman, and newly endeared to community gardening.

he writes, “These pictures feature yet another community garden sponsored by Montgomery County.  This is the Maple Avenue garden in Takoma Park, conveniently, right across the street from our apartment.  It features 29 above ground garden containers in an unused section of parking lot outside a large apartment complex.  It’s refreshing to see unconventional thinking in action.  Someone had the vision to utilize this unused space for something productive, stimulating, and community centric!  I didn’t run into anyone at the community garden, but it looks like our on going heatwave has taken its toll on some of these plants.

Good Garden Growing! See you Monday!
