fall at the farm

November 12, 2012

the fall weather has been so amazing in some ways.  and it was nice to see the changes at the farm this season. last year, adelaide, just like lyla now, loved all the animals equally.  she pointed and marveled.  this year, she’s become slightly fearful of a few of the bunch.  the horses are, as she announces, ‘too big’.  and the pigs are ‘dirty’.  and the turkeys gobbling make her jump out of her skin.  but, we still continue to go and experience and wonder.  and, i still secretly hope that a chicken or pig will come home with us someday.  (because, wouldn’t that be lovely?)

also, happy birthday to aunt eleni, who continues to amaze me with talent and kindness and beauty.  she is so warm and loving.  we are all blessed to know her.

yes, it was ‘the pig threw up’ until i started replacing ‘throw up’ with ‘dirty’… which is what she really means. every time we go to the farm now, i think of you. :)

Get chickens! Apparently it’s not that hard as long as you don’t have municipal laws against it and don’t keep roosters.
